Abstract
The science and applications of metamaterials, i.e., artificial materials with special and anomalous electromagnetic properties, have rapidly grown in interest and importance in recent years. In particular, the fascinating electromagnetic properties and potential applications of these materials have been the subject of many recent contributions in the literatures devoted to the topic. This paper discusses the role of random disorders and imperfections on the performance of metamaterials.
